As the festive season draws near,
The spirit of giving is brilliantly clear.
In Oxfordshire’s heart, where kindness does bloom,
A Christmas feast grows, dispelling the gloom.
In September it started, a mission so bright,
A steering group gathered, prepared for the night.
With mighty elves working, volunteers stand,
To ensure care leavers feel warmth, hand in hand.
With meetings aplenty, ten in the past,
And twelve more to follow, united steadfast.
A scrumptious feast awaits, oh, what a treat!
With chefs in the kitchen, our joy is complete.
Local businesses rally, with hearts full of grace,
Missing Bean Coffee, our energy base.
The Magdalen Arms lends a hand with the spuds,
While Yorkshire puddings connect us in festive buds.
Flowers from The Garden bring beauty so near,
Old Bank and Old Parsonage add holiday cheer.
Thanks to Randolph Hotel for support brought to life,
ARK T Clare and Alan’s sweet treats cut the strife.
Gatineau’s pastries, an artisan touch,
COOK’s meals on wheels, we thank them so much.
After Boxing Day’s feasting, their meals bring delight,
Our hearts filled with warmth on a cold winter’s night.
With Iulia Pop’s styling and Clulee’s flair,
Resonate’s magic adds joy to the air.
With Novel’s creativity and Jessie’s art,
The season’s bright glow will never depart.
Thank you to Pen to Paper’s sweet stationery,
Their thoughtful donations are more than just merry.
Collaboration’s key in this grand festive part,
With Freddie van Mierlo’s support from the heart.
The mighty Izzy from Dodds’ MP base,
Lends wisdom and care with a steady embrace.
Sir Grayson Perry’s support is profound,
With the Chief Nurse’s guidance, hope does abound.
Chief Midwifery’s voice and Chief Social Worker’s call,
Reach for the skies, offering hope to us all.
With emerging young adults, their voices so strong,
Their wisdom and courage help us move along.
Oxford Brookes’ Vice Chancellor’s team,
Philippa, Jason, and Sarah’s grand dream.
With David and Sara’s kindness so rare,
Gather & Gather’s support beyond compare.
Shout out to Madlug, whose kindness is known,
Quilts for Care Leavers, their seeds have been sown.
Maguire’s of London, your generosity true,
St Cross, Balliol, Brasenose, we’re grateful to you.
Chilworth’s pupils and staff lend a hand,
Sorting donations to meet our demand.
With gifts stored by Jen safely and sound,
The spirit of giving is all around.
Oxfordshire Youth ensures we’re on track,
With governance clear, there’s no turning back.
With Hollie, Tracy, Catriona, and Darius,
Thanks Oxfordshire Council, whose guidance does carry us.
Becky, Sarah, Darcey, Carol’s bright glow,
Jennifer, Delia, and Jessie’s hearts show.
Pauline, Tilly, and Steph’s spirits so bless’d,
Together we’ve built something deeply professed.
To hundreds who gave from two pounds to a ton,
Your kindness and care have only begun.
Gardeners, bakers, and drivers so bold,
With every small gesture, the magic unfolds.
As we gather together, this day will be grand,
A celebration of unity, hand in hand.
The Oxfordshire Christmas Dinner’s warm light,
Reminds us of love on this magical night.
So thank you, dear Oxford, for all that you do,
In this woven tapestry, kindness shines through.
Together we’ll cherish this festive delight,
Spreading love and compassion, making spirits bright.
