Biography
Hesper is an Artist Teacher from Oxford who has taught art in secondary schools for 11 years. Hesper is currently studying at Oxford Brookes University on the MA Artist Teacher Practice course and already has a BA (hons) in Visual Communication and PGCE in Secondary School Art Education. Hesper uses mixed media to develop layered paintings and artefacts that explore a sense of place. Shotover Country Park and other green spaces in around Oxford are a continual source of inspiration for Hesper’s work as she aims to build narratives that explore the varying viewpoints of a space. The observation of trees allows Hesper to make connections with the history of a place as well as providing a rich source of textual and surface reference.
